NEW PRODUCT
DESIGN
PROJECT
Develop the UI design for "Virtual Accounts", a new US Bank product.
PROBLEM
Given the novelty of this product in the market, we faced challenges that required us to adopt a rapid and iterative approach to work.
GOAL
Utilize design thinking principles to navigate through the user experience journey.
Storyboard
I leveraged my background in digital design and collaborated with the UX researcher on my team to develop a storyboard. This was helpful in the inital stages for everyone to get up tpo speed on virtual accounts.

REsearch
I sat in on calls with bank stakeholders to see how virtual accounts work from an administration point of view. The documentation definitely influenced the decision making of the user flows as I got to see a real world view.

PAIN POINTS
As I pulled from components to build out he interface sometimes I would run into issues where the components didn't meet the flow requirements. In these instances it's important to advise as soon as possible with solutions.
For Example:
In virtual accounts it possible that a customer has sub accounts nested nested under a master account. As the current design system didn't address allow for this I had to do some below explorations as to how I envisioned that functionality.
EXPLORATIONS
After conducting research and discussing with colleagues, I opted to experiment with a folder structure similar to the layout used in Windows Explorer.

Folder selected and sub accounts revealed

BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE
DAILY STANDUPS
The morning ritual marked a significant beginning, where I would outline my daily goals and stay updated on any pertinent news that might impact my tasks ahead.
STAKEHOLDER CHECKINS
This ensured the advancement/endorsement of the work and ensured that stakeholders remained informed at each stage of the project.
DESIGN SHARES
Teams frequently convened to discuss their ongoing projects. This proved advantageous in cases where teams could avoid duplicating efforts by leveraging work done by others on similar tasks.
